31 Day Challenge, Day Five: Blue

So I've been dying to do the nail outline (I have no clue what the official name is) for some time but i forgot until i was reminded recently ^_^. Here's my blue, I used Essie- "Mesmerize" and my Bundle Monster plate you'll see below. A relatively easy design, I first painted my nails the base color and then outlined them free hand.

I also tried a new cleanup technique where I used Aquafor (you can use any oil based product) to coat my cuticles before I started polishing to cut down on my clean up process. You are moisturizing your nails AND helping them look neater allll in one. Just try not to get the oil based product on your nails or you will have a hard time painting over it!

Happy painting!

Tardy for the Party

Ok granted I took a while to jump on the whole magnetic-nail-polish-band-wagon but all I kept thinking is how one dimensional this polish would be. I mean, how many ways can you really wear wave polish?! After going back and forth in my own head I decided I don't care, I have lots of one hit wonders in my polish bin so what's one more?! Here I have Sally Hansen's Magnetic Nail Polish- Emerald Green and plan to purchase nail inc.'s-Fishnet Magnetic Polish- Soho (chrome) and Star Magnetic Polish- "The Strand" (navy). ::glee:: The results for Sally Hansen:

In hind sight I realize I should have posted how it looks before the "wave"; it looks like any other metallic polish, even a bit dull. Once you use the magnet though you don't even need a top coat! even though I absolutely used Seche Vite because I want this look to last.

31 Day Challenge, Day Three: Yellow

Yellow has got to be the LEAST inspiring/ attractive color for me in terms of nail design. Also I find that I need to reiterate how much I dislike photographing glitter polishes, nothing ever captures it properly. So after flip-flopping from my real camera to my phones camera to outdoor pics and then indoor pics I've decided to showcase this look via my phone. I used China Glaze's- "Lemon Fizz" with Clear nail glitter powder.

31 Day Challenge, Day Two: Orange

So I finally did half moons, and I have to say I'm pretty pleased with the result. It's clean and classy and leaves enough wiggle room for you to throw in a little extra something. For this design I used regular paper reinforcements (Which I own in clear but would def recommend using white so you can actually see what you are doing), China Glaze- "Peachy Keen"Nail Tape (For my ring fingers) and Studs; along with my fabulous Julep- Ingrid.

Have I told you recently how much I enjoy being a Julep Maven?! I'm only about three months in, but getting two polishes monthly that has great color and brush quality along with free products for manis and pedis- how can you pass that up!? Take the quiz, it'll tell you what kind of maven you are, and then you can be well on your way for have your only personal care package waiting for you at home on a monthly basis.

Any-hoo, back to Day Two:

Thanks for reading!

31 Day Challenge, Day One: Red

So I have decided to finally take the leap and do my first 31-day challenge!

What I used: OPI- "Big Apple Red"OPI- "Be-Claus I Said So", and Konad- "Black" along with my Konad nail plate.

I love the look of glitter trapped under the fishnet nail plate, gives the design lots of depth.

One layer of "Big Apple Red" and two coats of "Be-Claus I Said So"
