Rewind

So maybe I should thank Hurricane Sandy for gracing us over in NYC with a four day weekend...

Major shut down city-wide as we all sit and wait for the storm to pass.

In other news I was inspired to do something I never do, refresh a manicure. Not that I think it's a bad idea, I've just always been partial to fresh nails; the whole process just feels more rewarding that way. So, on this fine hurricane weekend I opted for a rewind on my bright pink Sinful Colors manicure from my first post.

Original manicure in Sinful Colors #52, Cream Pink with Seche Vite
Taped off with nail tape

First coat of OPI- You Don't Know Jacques

Second coat

Cleaned off excess and topped off with Seche Vite

Words Words and Words...!

I love-Love-LOVE the clean crisp lines that come with newspaper print on polish. Here I have one of my favorite designs simply applied using polish, the Daily News and some rubbing alcohol.

First I applied two coats of polish. Allow to fully dry, because you will be putting pressure on the nail. Then using my cut strips of newspaper, I places them over my nail and dabbed with rubbing alcohol. I know that some people prefer to soak their strips in the alcohol and then apply the strip but the lettering didn't seem dark enough to me when I did that.

After keeping the newspaper print on my nail for about 15-20 seconds, using a q-tip dipped in non-acetone nail polish remover, I then lightly brush in between the letters to get rid of excess newpaper print. Then top it off with my top coat and VOILA! This bad boy last me 7 days easy.

First Post: Pinky and the Brain

Hello and morning all!

I'm a first time blogger but no stranger to online posting. I have a passion for beauty, health and well... NAILS!
I've been in love with doing nails since I was about 13 and I have been building on my "art" since then.
I hope to use this blog to post/exchange nail designs, product critiques and any other bits of information related to the topic at hand.

Here goes nothing! ^_^
